Garden Festival 2009
It could hardly have been a worse day for looking round gardens - but all our many visitors (over 300 in some gardens) were so amazingly cheerful, with such huge smiles and appreciative comments that I don’t think any of the 20 gardeners and helpers felt the rain at all!
A heartful thank you to those gardeners who did open up and to Lord and Lady Savile for opening Gryce Hall.
All the gardens are months, if not two years, in preparation for this one day. So many projects and themes are begun with this Festival in mind.
And what about all the quirky touches?
