In those days, the church was packed with worshippers as it brought together all the village. This included all the people from the ‘bottom’ of Shelley and those from the top, all united under the British Legion Banner.
It has been my privilege and honour to act as Poppy Appeal Organiser in Shelley for the past nineteen years, but ‘tempus fugi!’ and I am now passing the reins over to the very capable hands of Mr Malcolm MacDonald. I hope you will all continue to support the British Legion’s activities through him.
Thank you to everyone who has helped me in this very worthy cause.
