Shelley Cricket Club
SHELDON WEEKES
How appropriate that the first West Indian to play cricket for the club should have the nickname ‘Shelley’. He has represented his island Montserrat in first class cricket. Arriving midway through the season he proved very popular at the club.

ASHLEY DONKERSLEY
Last season Ashley was keeping wicket for Armitage Bridge but it was via Australia that he arrived at Shelley. He went on to play cricket in the Antipodes but managed only 8 matches all season because of the constant rain in Victoria.

JOE SYKES
Circumstances decreed that Joe played a lot of second team cricket. He showed he could still do it at first team level with 95 against Jer Lane early in the season. His centuries for the seconds showed he was far too good for that class of cricket.

ANDY KILNER
If it is experience you want Andy is your man. He will step into the first team at a minute’s notice and for the past couple of seasons has been a good performer with the Seconds. As a committee member he has done good work behind the scenes.
