We are going to try and keep this event as a village annual special event free for all to enjoy, and next year if anybody feels they want to help please state your case around next August
The reward for the cricket club is two fold: to have the event run successfully in awful weather, and boosting our income, to help keep the club going and to pay the ever increasing costs of doing so.
.
Special thanks to our sponsors for their support:
Shelley Gala Committee, Shelley Over 60s, Tristan Dunn, Graham and Jenny (Spar Stores) Russell Parkinson (butcher Kirkburton) Rosemary at Shelley Fish Shop and all who contributed to make the Bonfire Night an enjoyable evening for all, and a special thanks for the support from all the local families and residents of our village.
We understand it was an accident free night and our St John Ambulance team was not called into action, which is good. It was nice to see the local police at the event popping in to make sure all was well, which is always reassuring for visitors at events.
A special thanks to Jim Hall for organizing the bonfire event on behalf of the cricket club.
