Shelley Cricket Club
One thing that bas been particularly frustrating is the lack of modern rules here.

At home all of our club cricket is limited overs (50) with power plays, free hits, leg-side wides and fielding restrictions - that means 4 men inside the 30-metre circle always and never more than 5 fielders on the leg side.

Without these restrictions negative cricket is encouraged particularly late in the innings.

A few things that we have seen as completely taken for granted and are just a commonality in daily life here has been jet streams (we don’t get these in the sky in NZ), stone walls (these are very rare at home but are seen nearly everywhere you are in Yorkshire) and the prevalent pub culture which brings villagers to meet regularly at their local on many occasions throughout the week.

Though our adventures across the road at the Farmers Boy in Shepley where we have resided up at Shepley and down at the Woodman Inn we have met an array of very friendly people.
