This was quickly put to rest by Pete whose maiden English 5 wicket bag kept them to a reasonable score.
Drysdale started with the bat but with limited support from the middle and lower order, Shelley fell short of an opening day win. This has turned out to be a trend for large parts of the season.
Our fondest moments on the field came against the following sides: Jer Lane, Broad Oak, Kirkburton, Holmfirth (t20) and Marsden.
Why?
Because they have been the league and cup games in which we have tasted victory.
All of these games were won as a result of a single special performance with contributions from other team members - a formula that needs to be continued here if we want to stay in the Premiership.
The Marsden victory was particularly special for us as Dan recorded his only 5 wicket bag to date and Pete was unbeaten with a half century in a clinical chase.
