We had to beat struggling Slaithwaite at Westerley Lane in the next match but we went down by 18 runs. Drysdale took 4 for 9 with the ball but failed to trouble the scorers when he went into bat. Sarfraz made 50 and Ashley Brothers 49 but our 176 for 9 was not enough.
The Bank Holiday game at Shepley was a wash out.
A league defeat and an exit from the Sykes Cup befell us on the next weekend.
We were decidedly second best at Elland when we went down by 58 runs chasing 276.
Icky who had been batting down the order took advantage of his promotion to number four and top scored with 45 whilst Scott Dyson steered us to a point with an unbeaten 40.
It was Golcar in the cup on the Sunday and we were beaten off the very last ball of the match but somehow it felt like a victory. Drysdale made his maiden century for the club, an unbeaten 124 and Sam Scott played his best innings todate of 57 as we posted a score of 250 but it was just not enough.
