Shelley Cricket Club
The club were Tinker Cup winners in 1926 and 2000, Holden Cup winners in 1935 and Allsop Cup winners in 1957 and 1960.

In 2001 they joined the Huddersfield Drakes League and in 2006 the 1st XI finished close runners-up to Honley in the Premiership and were also winners of the Examiner 8s.

In 2005 an artificial wicket was laid to help with the development of junior cricket in the village and on July 4th, 2006 it was officially opened by Dickie Bird (See Below).
