Windows on the World
In the course of the next few weeks thirty-two will gradually be reduced to two and we will have arrived at the World Cup final.
You may thoroughly enjoy the journey or it may irritate you no end as it plays havoc with the television schedules and you find your favourite programmes moving to different times or disappearing altogether.
For some it may prove to be an attractive spectacle, for others a sheer waste of time. For some it is the time they have been eagerly awaiting, for others it cannot pass quickly enough. For some it is highly significant and the outcome really matters, for others it represents simply another month of competitive international football which will soon be forgotten.
Where are you on this spectrum, I wonder.
