The wildlife photographs in the Gallery depict a variety of species which have all been recorded on the Whins and Bridle. Due to their relatively sheltered and south-facing aspects the Whins and Bridle are excellent places to observe a variety of insects and other wildlife.

Wildlife Gallery - Introduction
As the Whins has not had pesticides and other artificial ‘improvements’ done to it and contains a good range of native trees, shrubs and flowers it is consequently one of the best butterfly sites in the Huddersfield area with 22 species, approximately one third of the British list, being recorded since 1998.
