Minutes and records exist for trustees and leaders meetings from 1881 and 1882 respectively, but with numerous gaps. A selection of the more interesting and some quaint and amusing items are listed below:-

1) Leaders Meeting, June 25th, 1842.

Resolved 1st that Brother Geo. Hellawell’s class having refused to conform to the discipline of the connexion, and having moreover associated with Mr. Barker’s friends, (Joseph Barker was a leader of a breakaway group and had much influence and a large following locally) whose object is to divide and destroy us, this meeting though with pain and regret finds it to be its duty to discontinue them as members of this Society.

2) Congregational Meeting, April 28th, 1881.

“Resolved 1. That this meeting enpowers the choir committee to ask the organist….to resign his position…..that the choir committee take the necessary precautions to prevent a recurrence of such scenes as we have had during the last two Sundays”.
(whatever happened?)
