Class collections and records date from 1786 and Chapel accounts from 1796.

The class records include details of sums received and paid quarterly and even £0.14.6., for dinner at J. Goldthorpes when Quarterday was held at Shelley on 24th March, 1788

The first quarterage payment was £4.10.0.

From this record we learn that classes were originally held in Shelley, Shepley, Copley lain (probably Brookhouse), Cumberworth, Highburton, Steadbrook (location unknown), and Skelmanthorpe. [Dykeside, (Denby Dale),Kirkburton and Stocksmoor appear later].

Day-to-day running expenses and receipts for the Chapel have been recorded since 1796.
