In 1885 the Chapel celebrated its centenary, but the only commemorative event for which records survive, was a tea meeting held on September 13th, which raised £6.18.0.

Then, in 1895, the trustees resolved that, in respect of the connexional centenary commemorations, due in 1897, their local object would be the raising of the whole or part of the cost of the field which they had recently purchased for use as a burial ground.

In 1894 the trustees had decided that the original ground was becoming over used, and had met the owner of an adjoining field, and he had agreed to sell the field to them for the sum of £140.

In March, 1895, the trustees unanimously decided to go ahead with the purchase, subject to their obtaining the approval of the local council.

In April the decision was confirmed and the transaction completed, the cost being loaned to the trustees.
