Much was expected of the under seventeens but they were badly hampered by the weather, holidays and school calls but under their coaches John Andrew and Pushy they made a late rally but with the talent available one might have expected them to bring honours to the club.
They have included Sam Scott when he has been available from Yorkshire Academy duties and two players who have each returned five wicket performances in the second team, Allan Greenwood and Scott Turner.
Another bowler who came good after starting the season on the injured list was Alex Rich who picked up wickets in his first three games on his return.
Danny Mirfin has been particularly consistent. Also in the team were Jack Greene and Gino Dignan who have both made their mark as all rounders with the second team.
Much is expected of these youngsters for they are the lifeblood of the club.
