In 2005 an artificial wicket was laid to help with the development of junior cricket in the village and on July 4th, 2006 it was officially opened by Dickie Bird (See Below).
For the 2007 season the old clubhouse has been converted to changing rooms, a new larger clubhouse and bar have been erected and a new tea-room built.
To celebrate over a hundred years of Shelley cricket a booklet about Shelley Cricket Club, its past history and achievements was published. Written by Bob Haigh ‘Century Plus’ is a fascinating record of Shelley Cricket Club.
