Shelley cricket is indeed built on a strong foundation with the junior teams continuing to improve week by week under the guidance of Dave Jones and Simon Barraclough who devote so much time on their behalf.
Hopefully by next season we will have a new pavilion in place to do justice to the club’s set-up.
There will be changes next season for Graeme Hurlbatt, who during the past two years has added steel to our team. has decided to relinquish his position as skipper.
He has promised to play at the side of the new appointee, Simon Peacock, who will be the man who will spin the coin.
Simon of course has a vast experience in that role for he was captain of Linthwaite when he left to join us a couple of season’s ago.
