At the commencement of the season this year, the first team were, through the committee and myself, given a brief.
That brief was quite simple, to retain our Drakes League Premiership status, for which we had fought so hard during the Conference winning season of 2005.
In order that we did maintain that prized Premiership status, we needed to strengthen the side. Julian Barden worked tirelessly during the winter, badgering, pestering and hounding various potential Shelley Cricket Club prospects.
To say he is committed to the task would be an understatement and to say he is not persistent would be a downright lie.
Julian has done a fantastic job helping us secure our Premiership status and as a bunch of players we owe him a huge vote of thanks.
