The previous week at Meltham Ramzan made 45 but the batting heroes were Matt Friedlander and Darren Lockwood who made 103 and 80 not out respectively as we amassed 279 for 2 before restricting Meltham to 217 for 9.
The following day we met Scholes from the Central Yorkshire League at Westerley Lane but we proved second best and despite Pushpakumara hitting 81 we lost by 73 runs in a high scoring game.
At Lascelles Hall our skipper was again in fine form taking 6 for 45 to shoot out the opposition for 119 that we knocked off for the loss of two wickets.
We then travelled to Golcar where we met a team above us in the table.
Golcar made a challenging 225 for 5 but we were to be treated to a batting extravaganza with an opening partnership of 186 before Ramzan was out for 87.
At that point the only challenge was to beat the weather with storm clouds gathering. Pushpakumara was just the man and he was unbeaten with 122 when victory came with nine wickets and ten overs to spare but very little time before the rains came and thwarted the efforts of our two rivals.
