All the new signings should be good news for Dave Greaves who has led the second team with such a good example in recent years despite often having to scratch about at the last minute to make up the numbers.
Hopefully he will be able to call on several experienced players stepping down from the first team.
Even Secretary, Gary Eastwood, who has probably scored more runs for the club than anyone in its history has expressed a desire to play second eleven cricket.
It is not just on the playing front where Shelley have been active for plans are in place to improve their facilities but it is unlikely that these will come to fruition before the start of the 2007 season.
