Danny is a true all-round sportsman having represented the village at both football and cricket.
As a youngster he played for the Cavaliers under-15 side and once took a hat-trick for them in a cup final.
Whilst still playing for the juniors he opened the bowling for the senior team in the Yorkshire Council and had trials with Yorkshire. He played for the Heavy Woollen Joe Lumb team.
He has played for Bradley and Colne and Rastrick and came to Shelley from Hall Bower.
On moving to his present home in Hawthorne Way he was regarded as an opening bowler for the first team and has taken many wickets in that capacity but has now settled down to play with the seconds where he can impart his knowledge to his very promising son, Allan.
