Kamran has served Shelley Cricket Club well and everyone was sad to see him go after he bade farewell at the Crowther Cup semi-final in mid July. It is unlikely we will see him back for he has taken up employment in India.
When he arrived he was considered a regular 1st teamer but in recent years he has settled into the 2nds where he has enjoyed success with both bat and ball.
He made his one and only century for the club a few seasons ago but it was as a slow spin bowler that he will best be remembered regularly picking up wickets.
In 2005 he left the club to play with Baildon in the Bradford League to be nearer home. He returned to ‘guest’ for Shelley in their game at Shepley and turned in a match winning performance and who knows, the points might just have kept our side in the Premiership?
He was delighted to return to Shelley and played his part in the club’s success.
