Gary, the club’s hard working secretary surprisingly made the decision to step down to the second eleven at the start of the season.
This was despite topping 500 runs and finishing second in the club’s averages.
Due to business commitments he has missed the odd match including the Crowther Cup semi-final where he might just have made the difference against Barnsley.
He has regularly been amongst the runs and has made his customary century . This was an unbeaten 115 against Scholes but he was gutted to finish on the losing side.
He has also donned the wicket keeping gloves in the absence of Dave Greaves.
