Annual Dinner and Awards 2005
Councillor Brooke was then invited to present the Hinchcliffe Cup to Graeme Hurlbatt who captained the side that won the Cedar Court Championship with eleven points to spare over Kirkheaton.
It was one of many trips that the skipper made to the podium to receive awards as he swept the board at first team level.
Not only did he win the club bowling award with 67 wickets at 8.1 but this was enough to win him the Drakes League prize.
It proved to be the best average ever in 50-over cricket and his 63 wickets in league matches only at an average of 7.9 was also a record. Graeme also picked up the batting prize with 373 runs at an average of 37.3.
It was no surprise when his playing colleagues elected him as ‘the player of the year’.
