An amorous meeting at Liverpool University steered Chris to play for Shelley. It was here that he met his wife-to-be, Emma, who is the current cricket club treasurer and came to live in our area. He hails from Stourport and was part of the Worcestershire Cricket Academy from the age of eleven to nineteen. He had a full season representing the County second elevens and scored a couple of half centuries.
He played league cricket for Kidderminster in the Birmingham League. He stopped playing cricket at the age of twenty but took it up again when arriving in Yorkshire and at the age of 32 has many cricketing years in front of him.
He has already made one century for the club, 114 for the seconds at Kexborough. He has played Conference football with Kidderminster and has two international caps representing England Universities.
