Tim lived in Shelley for just three years but he is a mountain of a man with regards to sport in the village where he is the club’s longest serving footballer.
He has a massive cricketing pedigree having started with Denby Dale as a junior before progressing to Shepley where he made fifty on his debut.
He helped the Marsh Lane club to the championship in 1982 and 1984. They also won the Champions of Champions trophy in 1984.
He then moved to Holmfirth where he became a ‘nearly man’. He was on the losing side in three Sykes Cup semi-finals and when the club won the cup in 1998 he missed the final with a broken thumb. He also appeared on the losing side in two Paddock Shield finals.
He captained Shelley for five seasons and was largely responsible for piloting them into the Drakes League and led them to a Conference title in 2003.
