Village Links
Unlike in previous years, this year’s walk was also extended to members of the Yorkshire branch of Butterfly Conservation as well as the local community. This encouraged 14 members of the public to attend including some recent arrivals in the village. Members of Butterfly Conservation also joined us from Holmfirth and Skipton.

The weather started cool and cloudy, as we first of all visited a nearby wildlife garden and examined the contents of a moth trap. The highlight for many of the younger children were the 3 Popular Hawkmoths I had managed to trap overnight. With a scalloped, three inch wingspan, they could never be described as dull or boring. They certainly proved very popular with the children and many of the adults!
