Our working parting on Saturday 14th November was, again, poorly attended considering the number of people who have indicated that they would like to help in ‘caring for green spaces’ on the village plan questionnaire; but we greatly appreciate those people who help when they can, in their own time, without being in an organised group.

As it turned out, there were two counter-attractions on the day; the arrival of Santa Claus and his sled, drawn by reindeer, at Shelley Village Hall, bound for Armitage’s Garden Centre and leaf clearance at Emmanuel Churchyard.

The ten of us that joined the working party hacked away at brambles that were invading the footpath down to Shelley First School, and tree branches that were threatening to obstruct it.
