We decided to give the Bridle a miss and concentrate our efforts at the former Meadowlands Trust site at Thunderbridge. Now owned by the HSBC, this lovely sheltered area provided us with a few extra species for the day including:

Ringlet, Red Admiral, Peacock, White-letter Hairstreak and Purple Hairstreak.

Despite a very poor July and recently unsettled weather we managed a very respectable 16 species, only 2 short of our best ever outing in 2006.

Other wildlife seen at Thunderbridge included Brown and Southern Hawker Dragonflies.
