Foxes have been seen and occasionally heard throughout the year. Bats have been seen at dusk on many evenings between May and October. Other mammals have included Wood Mouse, Short-tailed Vole and Badger.

Despite another mixed summer, Damsel and Dragonflies were seen regularly around the Whins and Large Red Damselfly bred in a nearby pond again.

The highlight was without doubt a Southern Hawker found at rest during the Butterfly Walk on the Whins which gave great views.

About a week later a female of the species appeared and spent nearly an hour in a nearby garden pond egg-laying for the first time.

Other species recorded included Brown Hawker but there were no Common Darters or Common Hawkers like last year.
