As last year, this year’s Birdsong walk was a little later than in previous years.

However, there was still a good selection of birds and birdsong observed. A small but dedicated group duly turned out on the above date.

After the recent unsettled weather we were greeted by a mild day with occasional sunny spells and light drizzle.

Species seen and/or heard, in no particular order, were: Blue Tit, Long-tailed Tit, Robin, Wren, Dunnock, House Sparrow, Starling, Chaffinch, Greenfinch, Goldfinch, Bullfinch, Linnet, Blackbird, Song Thrush, Swallow, Swift, Collared Dove, Wood Pigeon, Jackdaw, Rook, Magpie, Kestrel, Sparrowhawk, Pheasant, Mallard and Chiffchaff. (26 Species)

Not a bad selection, but 2 down on 2006.
