Whins & Bridle Butterfly Walk
Saturday 5th August - Review
As last year’s walk, members of the Yorkshire branch of Butterfly Conservation were invited to join in, along with the local community.

This encouraged a record number of 20 members of the public attending the walk.

Numbers were additionally boosted with members of Stocksmoor Village twinning group bringing along a number of Italian visitors with them!

The weather started warm and rather cloudy. Although the air temperature was around 22C the sun failed to make an appearance all day!

We firstly visited a nearby wildlife garden and examined the contents of a moth trap, which had been set overnight. The overnight catch did not contain anything especially interesting but was able to demonstrate that not all moths are brown and boring as most people perceive!
