After a disappointing year in 2005 this one was much better.

With record temperatures in July helping many summer species build their numbers up.

Unfortunately, August was rather unsettled and numbers were lower following the spectacular July.

July in fact produced a record 17 species and the butterfly walk on the 5th August produced a record 18 species.

Recent colonists, namely Brimstone and Small Heath, were not recorded again, nor was the Common Blue which is normally seen in small numbers each year.

The year total was 19 species still some three down on our best year in 2004.
