At the time of writing we are currently 7 species down (68sp) on the exceptional total in 2005.
For the first time since regular recording began we have not had a new species recorded for either site either.
As the site list built up though, it will get increasingly more difficult to add new species but I am trying my best!
Despite the actual bird species recorded the breeding season went very well and included the first record of breeding Goldcrest on the Whins.
22 species bred on the Whins again this year.
Encouragingly, Willow Warbler was proven breeding again on both the Whins and Bridle for the first time. Unfortunately, Chiffchaff failed to breed on either site for the first time though.
