As last year, I will be leading a Butterfly walk on the Whins and Bridle on the above date.
Shelley Conservation Group manages the two sites. 22 butterfly species have been recorded on the Whins since 1997. Making it one of the most important sites in the Huddersfield area.
Weather permitting there will be an opportunity to visit a nearby wildlife garden and view the contents of a Moth Trap. There will also be an option of driving to a nearby White-letter Hairstreak site.
Members of Yorkshire Butterfly Conservation have also been invited to event and weather permitting good opportunities to learn, identify and photograph butterflies and day-flying moths will be available.
Meet me at the entrance to the Whins on Far Bank, on the footpath, which leads to Shelley Infant School. I will attend whatever the weather and give a brief introduction about the two sites the group currently manage.
