As last year, I will be leading a Butterfly walk around the Whins and Bridle on the above date. Although principally looking for butterflies there could also be a range of day-flying moths, dragonflies and wildflowers to observe.
Last year we had superb weather and saw good numbers of several species.
I have timed this walk to coincide with the peak numbers of the high summer butterflies. 3 new species were discovered on the sites in the past 12 months so we should have a good range of species to go after.
If you are interested in learning more about Butterflies and the two sites the group manage, please meet me at the entrance to The Whins on Far Bank at 11.00.
I will attend whatever the weather conditions. However, unlike Birds, Butterflies do need warm dry weather to be appreciated at their best. Fingers crossed for the weather on the day!
