Torrential rain, a waterlogged school field and a poor weather forecast meant that by Wednesday of the week before the Gala, a decision had to be reached.
Should we go ahead regardless, cancel the Gala altogether, or resort to Plan B.
At that stage, Plan B was little more than the germ of an idea, that a ‘Mini-Gala’ might be possible, and that it could be held at the Village Hall.
The decision was to go with the idea of Plan B, provided, of course, that the Village Hall was available.
