Many people from Shelley said they wanted to support the gardeners who had worked hard in atrocious conditions to get their gardens ready.
Armed with umbrellas and stout shoes you were obviously not going to let the weather put you off - nor the many terrified pleas to beware of slippery paths - and we had very nearly the same number of visitors as in previous years - approx 300 counted in one garden (500 the time before ).
All the gardeners appreciated your wonderful support.
It was felt that although some visitors were ‘regulars’ we had lots of new faces to meet with many coming from the ‘other’ side of Huddersfield, Halifax, Manchester and all over the south of Yorkshire too - perhaps to dry out we wondered?
Thank you for your cheery and appreciative comments.
A very big thank you as always to our gardeners.
