1998 saw the launch of the first Shelley Art Exhibition.
Besides being a first for the Community Association it was a resounding success.
Around thirty local artists displayed their talents at painting and sketching and over the weekend £2,000 worth of paintings were sold.
The venue for this superb exhibition was in the perfect setting of the grounds of Shelley Hall by the kind permission of the owners.
It was thought initially that the exhibition may become an annual one but in 1999 the Community Association looked towards another venture, the Shelley Gardens Festival and it was decided that the two events would become bi-annual.
